“Labasa is the main town of Fiji’s second largest island Vanua Levu, which is on the northern coast. This volcanic island is much less populated than its larger neighbour Viti Levu and is predominantly rainforest, with some sugar cane plantations and areas of palm trees grown for coconut oil. The road network is sparse and mainly unsurfaced making for a bumpy bus ride.”
