Cape Coast Teaching Hospital (Projects Abroad) Cape Coast, Ghana

Hospital description

This elective is organised through Projects Abroad.

The Central Regional Hospital is a large referral hospital, which is equipped with some of the most advanced facilities in Ghana. It offers services in general medicine, paediatrics and obstetrics, in addition to an Emergency Department. The hospital is in close proximity to the University of Cape Coast and is being developed as a teaching hospital for the School of Medical Sciences at the University.

The hospital is considered to have state-of-the-art facilities and incorporates a four bed Intensive Care Unit and six renal dialysis tables in the Dialysis Unit. When the hospital becomes a fully integrated teaching hospital for UCCSMS, additional facilities at the hospital will include the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital and Ankaful Leprosy/General Hospital which have previously been associated with the University of Ghana Medical School.

Some teaching may be available during your elective.
