This is a highly reputable and very busy paediatric hospital that treats patients between the ages of 1 month to 15 years old.
The hospital opened in Córdoba in 1894 as mainly a surgical hospital. Over the years it developed and expanded a great deal and in 2000 they moved to new state-of-the-art facility near the centre of Córdoba. The hospital is located very close to the Córdoba bus terminal, very close to the city centre.
Volunteers can easily get there by bus or, in the case that they live nearby, on foot. Volunteers generally work in the mornings. When they arrive they work alongside the doctors checking hospitalized patients and performing tasks such as physical exams, patient interviews, case reports vital signs control, etc. You may also be invited to observe a surgery or aid in the emergency area with the medical students.
Volunteers may work in the afternoons as additional work hours.
