Shree Hindu Mandal was funded by the Hindu community of Dar es Salaam on the 29th of June 1919 as a non-profit organization serving Tanzanians of all religions, races, and color. They provide their patients with a 24 hour out-patient center which includes a 7 bed casualty/emergency ward, x-ray services, laboratory, and pharmacy. The services for in-patients include maternity, neonatology, medical, surgical, and paediatric specialities. It has been involved in HIV care and treatment since 1996 and has now successfully established an HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment Centre (CTC) of Excellence.
