This is a Quaker-affiliated hospital situated in Western Kenya. It started as a medical clinic in 1913 and has now 147 staff members that include 47 nurses and 8 clinical officers. With approximately 6,000 admissions, 25,000 outpatient visits, and over 750 infant deliveries annually, the hospital is typically at full capacity, its resources often strained. In addition to the main hospital, the facility also operates community outreach activities, including several remote dispensaries. The HIV/AIDS Comprehensive Care Center, operated in collaboration with Kenya AIDS Relief Programme (a Catholic charity), is very busy and successful.
