Hospital description

It is not certain that this organisation is still accepting students. The information remains on the site while TEN checks on the availability of electives at this location. The entry will be updated when we have further information.

The Sudanese Refugee Project is based at a hospital for displaced Sudanese immigrants in Egypt. It displays an impressive medical programme and is funded by the Joint Relief Ministry and voluntary donations. Many of the refugees are not granted official refugee status, so they are unable to work and are concentrated into a very poor district of Cairo.

The Joint Relief Ministry (JRM) is an ecumenical organisation that is part of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Egypt. The Church of St John the Baptist and All Saints Cathedral in Cairo are the base for the JRM’s compassionate ministry. You can read more about this here (TEN is not responsible for external site content).
