Situation: In a rural area 50 miles from Kampala.Profile: The hospital has been running for over 12 years and serves as the district hospital for an area bout half the size of Northern Ireland. About 22,000 outpatients are seen each year, 5,700 inpatients treated, and 1,000 babies delivered. Staff: The are up to 15 expatriate staff including 3 doctors, one from UK, one German, and one Japanese. There are also four or five Ugandan doctors. Altogether there are about 225 staff (including manual workers) plus 75 nursing students and a few laboratory students. There is also an enrolled nurse training school and a laboratory school. Departments: Paediatrics, Maternity, TB, Male, and Female wards.
