Manning Base Hospital is a rural hospital located at Taree on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. Taree, which has a population of 20,000 people, lies next to the Manning River and is sixteen kilometers from the coast. Manning Base is the major acute specialist hospital of the Lower North Coast Health Service. In addition to a wide range of specialist services, the hospital also provides a community health centre, mental health service and drug and alcohol rehabilitation clinic.
