The Western General Hospital, in the north west of Edinburgh, provides a comprehensive range of general and specialist medical services and acts as a referral hospital for the Lothian region, as well as providing local services. The hospital has 570 beds (including day beds) and isthe base hospital for the Lothian regional centres for cancer and clinical neuroscience, the Regional Infectious Diseases Unit, and the award-wining, nurse-led Minor Injuries Clinic.

There is also a minor injuries clinic that is highly regarded and treats numerous patients daily. The hospital is also part of NHS Lothian’s University Hospitals Division. It is associated with the University of Edinburgh Medical School.
