Rashid Hospital considers itself one of the premier medical facilities for emergency, trauma, critical and ambulatory care. The hospital provides high-quality services to all patients within the community, and strives to provide leadership in the education and training of healthcare professionals.
Rashid Hospital stands out as one of the most prominent and reputable emergency medical centres in the Gulf region and receives a large number of complicated case referrals from many other hospitals. The administrative and medical staff also co-ordinate closely with the Dubai Police & Civil Defence for the training of emergency medical staff at the airports.
Rashid Hospital offers a broad range of in-patient and out-patient medical and surgical services and is one of Dubai’s oldest hospitals. The hospital is located on the Oud Metha Road adjacent to Dubai Creek.
The new Trauma Centre at the hospital was completed in mid-2006, seven years after the initial proposal for the facility was made. This purpose built facility can accommodate seven ambulances simultaneously. The new complex also includes a medical library.
Rashid Hospital is directed by Dr Ahmed Shawqi Khoury, an Emirati consultant gastroenterologist.
