This elective is not available for international students
This is a very small, rural hospital in the Outback of the Northern Territory. Seven hours by road from the nearest town, Tennant Creek is an opportunity to experience Third World medicine, without actually being in the Third World. The large majority of patients are Aboriginal and students are encouraged to learn as much as possible about this community and the problems it faces. The registration fee includes local travel, accommodation and pastoral and practical support. Past students have told us they enjoyed working in a small, friendly team and had the experience of a lifetime.
