St Bartholomew’s Hospital, which is also known simply as Barts, is a hospital in Smithfield in the City of London. It is a Cancer and Cardiac Centre of Excellence, with a teaching affiliation with the St Bartholemew’s School of Medicine. Barts, which was founded in 1123, is also the oldest hospital in London, and the oldest in the United Kingdom that still occupies its original site.
The hospital offers a full range of local and specialist services, which includes centres for the treatment of cancer, heart conditions, fertility problems, endocrinology and sexual health conditions. The hospital includes the site of the new state-of-the-art Barts Heart Centre.
