Gympie Hospital is a rural facility approximately one hundred miles north of Brisbane. Although this is a small hospital, there is plenty for students to undertake there and staff have specialist experience in Emergency Medicine, due to the large amount of major trauma occuring in this area (gympie actually means “stinging tree”) Although a distance from the city, the area offers lots of tourist attractions plus beautiful, unspoilt countryside.
