The St George Hospital was established over 100 years ago (in 1878) to provide care for the sick of Beirut. Located at a crux of war and economic depressions, the hospital has had a difficult and ecclectic history. However, the hospital has continued to serve the local population throughout various crisis’ and continues to improve health in the region.
The hospital is associated with the University of Balamand and is owned, as a nonprofit academic medical centre, by the Orthodox Archdiocese of Beirut.
