The Ivangorod Hoapital is located in the town of Ivangorod, in Leningrad Oblast, Russia. The town is a major border crossing point and is opposite the Estonian town of Narva, which is situated on the left bank of the Narva River. The hospital is unlike most European hospitals although the staff are described as very friendly and willing to teach students on elective.
The hospital was built in 1948 and was extended in 1965 by B.N. Ivanov, who oversaw the construction of a complex of hospital buildings. The hospital now offers a range of services to the local community, as well as offering care to people living in two adjacent districts. The hospital is also the regional centre for two specialties; Otology and Intensive Care. The Intensive Care Unit at the hospital is well-known in the Leningrad region for the highly-qualified work of the experienced doctors at the unit.
