The Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital is located in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana and was founded in 1955. The hospital is close to the regional capital of Dormaa Ahenkro and the region itself is only 15 kilometres from the Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) border. This area is one of the most deprived areas in the country. It is suggested that students divide their time between a city hospital and this, more rural, placement.
The hospital is also working in conjunction with the Ghana AIDS Commission in the ‘Know Your Status’ campaign.
Students can take an elective at this hospital through Elective Ghana if they so wish.
