The Kerry General Hospital in Tralee is an acute hospital facility for both public and private patients, proving routine and emergency medical services, mainly (but not exclusively) for the population of County Kerry. The hospital has 370 beds and provides long stay extended care services and respite for the elderly as well as a full range of medical services. The hospital is the second largest of the Health Service Executive – Southern Area’s seven acute hospitals. The hospital provides acute general hospital services to the population of Co. Kerry (139,616) and additionally to a proportion of the populations of West Limerick and North Cork.
