The Atutur Hospital is a small government administered hospital in eastern Uganda. It is located in the Kumi region, which is a primarily rural district and is sorely understaffed.
In 2007, the hospital received long term help in the form of The Atutur Hospital Support Network Link (AHSNL) which was set up to support staff training and to help in the redevelopment of the hospital in relation to infrastructure and equipment. The AHSNL currently has several UK partners, these include Sheffield Medical Group (SMG), Newtraid and Engineers for Overseas Development. (EFOD)
The main focus of development since 2007 has been the maternity wards and the casualty department, with additional emphasis on work with the surrounding communities and training managerial personnel.
