The Kabarole Hospital in Western Uganda is located in the Kabarole District and is one of several hospitals in the region. This area has a higher than average prevalence of HIV/AIDS (compared to the national rate) and the hospital is equipped with a CD4 count machine (one of four in the region), which was donated by the Center for Disease Control to help monitor and diagnose those living with HIV/AIDS. The hospital is located near to Fort Portal, which is where the regional referral hospital is located.
The hospital is administered by the Protestant Medical Bureau but also receives government aid; it is one of three hospitals close to Fort Portal that receive government aid. Along with the other government aided hospitals, Kaborole accepts referrals from five different local districts; Kasese, Bundibugyo, Kamwenge, Kyenjojo and Kabarole.
