The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (sometimes called ‘the Alex’) has a long history of progressive and innovative paediatric care embracing medicine, nursing and related professions, paediatric nurse training and research.
In June 2007, the new hospital opened on the Royal Sussex County Hospital site – the state-of-the-art facility has won an international design award and continues with offering pioneering paediatric care.
This site has a 24-hour emergency care service for children referred by GPs and other specialists, providing inpatient facilities, including intensive care and outpatient care, for children.
