Mildmay Uganda is a Faith Based Institution under the auspices of the Uganda Ministry of Health since 1998. MU strives to improve the quality of lives of people living with HIV and AIDS in resource limited settings through provision of holistic care and training individuals to provide such care. Currently, over 22,000 patients are receiving care (10,000 on ART) of which 4,447 (20%) are children. MU has to-date trained 11,571 individuals of different cadres and professions (both health and non-health professionals) through formal courses, placements and mentorship programs.This facility is located on Entebbe Road 6.5 miles from Kampala at Lweza.
Clinical Placement: practical training is provided to Doctors, Clinical Officers, Counselors, Social workers, Teachers, Religious leaders and other persons involved in or interested in caring for PLHIV. Students of various disciplines also benefit from the scheme through mentorship and coaching. The aim of the scheme is to build competencies of professionals and students to offer quality care to PLHIV.
