Hospital description

Founded in 1941 as a city hospital, it’s a teaching hospital of the University of Hanover. Since 1955 it’s located in the quarter Klieversberg, in the middle of a green area with a fantastic overview of the city. It is one of the largest hospitals in Lower Saxony catering to a population of 180,000. There are 20 specialist clinics and institutes with high-quality diagnostic and treatment facilities.

The hospital has a total of 547 in-patient beds and also 20 beds for dialysis / out-patients. In 2015, it cared for almost 32.000 in-patients and more than 45.000 out-patients.

The clinic complex also houses a nursing school with 141 training places, 112 in general nursing, 29 in paediatric nursing.

Wolfsburg is the location of the well-known car manufacturer, Volkswagen.
