The Malteser Krankenhaus Bonn is a not-for-profit Catholic hospital and one of 11 which belong to the group, MTG Malteser Trägergesellschaft gGmbH.The in-patient institutions are amongst the oldest foundations of the Order of Malta in Germany. The first hospital in Flensburg was established in 1864.The MTG runs its institutions in regional operating companies in the legal form of charitable, non-profit-making limited liability companies.

All the efforts of the Malteser are devoted to maintaining and preserving the individuality and dignity of the patients – by means of personal attention, spiritual care, dedication, qualified treatment and medicine. For this reason, and in addition to the fulfilment of their acute and regular care tasks, the Malteser also devotes its efforts in all institutions specifically at multi-morbid (suffering from several illnesses) and dying patients.

The hospital offers core medical care and has recently also introduced a specialist department for alternative medicine. It treats 14.700 inpatients and 20.000 outpatients a year.
