Hospital description

This is a small, modern, regional hospital with affiliations to the University of Tasmania. Located at Burnie, a port on the North-West coast of the island, it provides a wide range of surgical and medical care to residents of the North-West region and King Island. The city is 184 miles from the state capital and has a wide range of shops and facilities within easy reach. As North West Regional Hospital is a secondary level service, transfer to comprehensive tertiary hospitals occurs for some injuries and illnesses.
