Clane General Hospital opened in 1985 and remains one of the country’s foremost facilities providing quality care for medical and surgical patients. It was extended in 2006 to include facilities for an MRI machine and IVF treatment. It is a fully accredited hospital, which means that all departments within Clane General Hospital have demonstrated the highest standards of organisational management and service delivery.

The philosophy under which the hospital operates is that of “complete quality given in a safe environment” and the staff strive to reflect this ethos in patient care. In addition, Clane General Hospital is dedicated to providing excellence in the delivery of high quality acute hospital care with a continuing focus on meeting the needs of patients to the highest achievable standard in the in-patient, day-care, out-patient and primary care areas.

The hospital was the first independent hospitals in Ireland to be accredited by the CKHS. Primary standards for assessment include; Patient Safety, Patient Experience, Clinical Governance, Leadership and Staff Experience.
