The New York Center for Children is a specialist facility that cares for children who suffer from child abuse. The centre provides specialist and comprehensive care, not only for the children, but also for their families. It is a free clinic that offers assessment and treatment for the victims of child abuse.

The clinic works in association with the New York Police Department (NYPD), the New York District Attorney’s Office and the district’s Child Services to minimise and prevent further child abuse by improving the investigations that are carried out into child abuse.

The centre was founded in 1995 and was originally known as the Children’s Advocacy Center of Manhattan; it is a non-profit, privately funded organisation that works in association with The Mount Sinai Medical Center.
