The hospital owes its name to Arnaud de Villeneuve born about 1240 in Catalonia. He arrived in Montpellier in 1293, where he studied and taught. The newest of the Montpellier hospitals, Arnaud de Villeneuve includes specialty medical, surgical and obstetric departments organized into two divisions: cardiovascular and pneumologic, for the diagnosis and treatment of medical and surgical cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.
