Odense University Hospital (OUH) is one of four university hospitals in Denmark. It is the largest and most specialised hospital in Southern Denmark and one of the largest education and training centres in the South Denmark Region. The hospital has a close collaboration with the University of Southern Denmark – Campus Odense.

Odense is the third-largest city in Denmark. It has a population of amore than 175,200 and is the main city of the island of Funen. Hans Christian Andersen, who is remembered above all for his fairy tales, was born in the city in 1805 and spent his childhood years there.
