Klinikum Frankfurt (Oder) was originally built in 1971. In the early days it functioned as a regional hospital (Bezirkskrankenhaus). Today is one the most modern hospitals in the Brandenburgregion in Germany and caters for patients with highly complex conditions. It was privatised in 2002 and is now part of the RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG.
The hospitals also functions as an academic teaching hospital for the Charité – University Medicine in Berlin. Places are available in a wide variety of specialisations.
