The Evangelical Lung Clinic in Berlin is one of the ten largest pulmonary clinics in Germany and recognised for its treatment of acute and chronic diseases of lungs, thorax and its organs. The hospital was founded in 1952 and is today part of the Paul Gerhardt Diakonie e.V., Berlin and Wittenberg.
The hospital’s team of pneumologists, thorax surgeons, anaesthetists, intensive care specialists and radiologists treat around 6,200 in-patients and more than 10,500 out-patients per year.
The Evangelical Lung Clinic is a competence centre for thorax surgery and accredited as a Lung Cancer Centre. It also specialises in complex palliativ care. The hospital is one of the founders of the Tumour Centre Berlin-Buch and is associated with the Charité – University Medicine Berlin. It acts as a teaching hospital (Akademisches Lehrkrankenhaus) that will accept German students during their practical year (Praktisches Jahr). Places are available in the surgery and internal medicine departments.
