Krankenhaus Waldfriede

District General Hospital | Berlin-Zehlendorf, Germany

Hospital description

As a district hospital, Krankenhaus Waldfriede’s main corporate responsibility is for the people living in the city sector Steglitz-Zehlendorf; and naturally of course for Berliners, Brandenburgers as well as patients coming from far and near. Waldfriede enjoys a reputation for top medical standards not only in the city sector Steglitz-Zehlendorf, but beyond the city limits of Berlin itself. As a result of its medical specialties (also known internationally ), Waldfriede has developed into a health network which many embassies in Berlin trust and utilise. This was underscored in 2008, by joining in cooperation with the Florida Hospital Chain, Orlando/Florida (one of the most renowned hospital chains in the United States).

Besides legally supported standards of quality, the Christian principle of charity primarily determines the treatment and care of patients.

The hospitals treats 61,000 patients per year of which 48,000 are treated and cared for on the wards.

The hospital was classed as one of Germany’s top regional hospitals in the countries largest hospital comparison survey by the newsmagazine FOCUS Gesundheit.

The hospital is associated with the Charité – University Medicine Berlin and acts as a teaching hospital (Akademisches Lehrkrankenhaus) that will accept German students during their practical year (Praktisches Jahr). Places are available in surgery, internal medicine, anaesthetics and gynaecology.
