Hospital Agathried is a general district hospital with around 1,000 members of staff. The hospital complex was newly build in 1998 and replaced the hospitals in Holzkirchen, Hausham, Tegernsee und Miesbach. It provides the inhabitants of the Miesbach district with a broad spectrum of medical care.
The hospital is associated with the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) and acts as a teaching hospital (Akademisches Lehrkrankenhaus) that will accept German students during their practical year (Praktisches Jahr). Places are available in internal medicine, general and emergency surgery, anaesthetics, gynaecology and obstetrics, paediatrics and new for 2018 neurology.
Agatharied is a part of Hausham in the German government district Miesbach, about 60 km south of Munich. The area is also know for the lakes of Schliersee and Tegernsee.
