The hospital in Prien is in the most beautiful location directly at the shores of lake Chiemsee to the south-east of Munich in the foothills of the alps. It is a general district hospital with two main wards with beds (surgery and internal medicine) and the three smaller wards in gynaecology, ENT and urology. 320 members of staff care for around 6,700 in-patients and 11,100 out-patients each year.

The hospital has an affiliation with the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) and acts as a teaching hospital (Akademisches Lehrkrankenhaus) that will accept German students during their practical year (Praktisches Jahr). Places are available in internal medicine and surgery.

The RoMed hospital group has an additional three hospitals in the towns of Bad Aibling, Rosenheim and Wasserburg am Inn. Overall the group treats more than 50,000 in-patients and has more than 90,000 out-patient visits every year.
