The hospital am Weissenhof is a modern specialised hospital for psychiatry. It has centres in six locations: Heilbronn, Schwäbisch Hall, Ludwigsburg, Künzelsau, Winnenden and Weinsberg, which is also the centre of the group. Together the hospitals provide care for the 1.1 million inhabitants of the region. The hospital in Weinsberg has been named top regional hospital for Baden Württemberg by the newsmagazine Focus in its 2017 ranking of German hospitals.
The hospital has an affiliation with the Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg and acts as a teaching hospital (Akademisches Lehrkrankenhaus) that will accept German students during their practical year (Praktisches Jahr).
