Klinikum Hanau is a maximum care hospital that caters for an area with around 400,000 inhabitants. It is home to 13 clinics, three institutes and an emergency care department. The town of Hanau is located just 25 km east of Frankfurt am Main. Its station is a major railway junction and it has a port on the river Main, making it an important transport centre. The town is known for being the birthplace of the Grimm brothers.
