The Christian hospital, Krankenhaus Sachsenhausen, looks back at 120 years of history. What started as a clinic that specialised in diabetes is today a city hospital that specialises in obesity surgery and leading in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery.
It has been named as one of the top regional hospitals by the news magazine Focus in its 2018 comparison of German hospitals. Krankenhaus Sachsenhausen also has an affiliation with the Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main and acts as a teaching hospital (Akademisches Lehrkrankenhaus) that will accept German students during their practical year (Praktisches Jahr). Places are available in surgery, internal medicine, gynaecology and obstetrics, anaesthetics and radiology.
