The Evangelisches Klinikum Niederrhein and its four locations have an affiliation with the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf and act as a teaching hospitals (Akademische Lehrkrankenhäuser) that will accept German students during their practical year (Praktisches Jahr). Places are available in anaesthetics, ophthalmology, gynaecology, neurosurgery, neurology, psychiatry, radiology and urology.
