The protestant Hospital in Düsseldorf is one of the largest hospitals in Düsseldorf. More than 24,000 in-patients and more than 65,000 out-patients receive their treatment in the hospital’s ten specialised clinics each year. In its 2018 comparison of 1000 national hospitals, the news magazine Focus ranked the hospital as one of the top 100 hospitals in Germany. It also has an affiliation with the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf and acts as a teaching hospital (Akademisches Lehrkrankenhaus) that will accept German students during their practical year (Praktisches Jahr). Places are available in anaesthetics, dermatology, gynaecology, ENT, paediatrics and radiology.
