The Hufeland Klinikum works in two locations, one hospital being located in Bad Langensalza and the other in Mühlhausen, Thüringen. Both hospitals are modern district hospitals, serving their respective areas. More than 1,200 members of staff (more than 150 of which are medical doctors) treat around 23,000 in-patients each year. The team performs 12,600 surgeries each year, 750 babies are born here. The hospitals also have an affiliation with the Georg-August-Universität in Göttingen and act as a teaching hospitals (Akademische Lehrkrankenhäuser) that will accept German students during their practical year (Praktisches Jahr). Places are available in internal medicin and surgery and also in gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, radiology and anaesthetics. Hufeland Klinikum was awarded the “MFT-Zert-Gütesiegel” a quality mark regarding the quality of practical year education (http://www.mft-zert.de/).
